What are your thoughts on the Healthcare debate?

Ridiculous! Government run healthcare does not work. Government run social services should be eliminated all together. I worked hard for my education, my parents worked hard to pay for my education. I work hard to have the job I have.... I don't want to be paying for those unwilling to work hard to achieve these things.

We are not 'equal' and should not try to make everyone equal.

I understand there are those who are less fortunate and need help, and I'm happy to help those willing to give their 100% but how many of these people that our president hears from daily is really giving it 100%?

And while I'm ranting - the whole insurance concept is just stupid anyway..... But, I'm not going to be able to go without in this society. I'll get on a soapbox on that one some other time....

It can not be fixed and the majority reason in my opinion is because of the Government who has allowed the insurance companies to turn the worlds best Healtcare system into a maze that can not be navigated.

When Peter Jennings was alive ABC did a week long expose' on healthcare. Given that Jennings died in 2005, this was along time ago. Turns out the Duke University Medical Center employs more people to push insurance paperwork than it employs Doctors, Lawyers, Nurses, Janitors and Building Maintenance people COMBINED. They had to build a whole wing just to house them. I've searched ABC News for the story, but can not find it.

Now you tell me how we can make this system work when there are more people pushing pencils than those seeing patients.

And if you were ever in the military, you'll just LOVE medicine by the people and of the people compliments of Uncle Scam!

What people don't understand is that the system is seriously broken with lobbyists in Wash. D.C. trying to kill this thing when it rears it's ugly head because they want the status quo to continue, the insurance companies want to be in control of your healthcare taking control away from you and the Doctor where it should be.

So bend over and get ready for your colonoscopy! Enjoy!

I cannot think on many things at all that our government can run well. Why in the world would I want them making my medical decisions! I stand back and watch this whole debate thing. I call it a "thing" because it really isn't a debate. Debates have rules of truth and information with both or all sides taking part equally. Only then can an informed decision be made. I see none of this. I see arrogance of office, I see cronyism, I see legislators hoping to please a segment of the population for the almighty vote, I see the vast majority of Americans being very confused by conflicting information being pushed by the media. The longer this goes on the worse it gets. Most people I hear from in this part of the country admit they would much rather have the health system we have now, with it's own problems, than a government run entity.
I had another thought, but I am getting so worked up over this that it totally escapes me here.... maybe later.
