80 years and sharp as a tack on so many subjects!
Hum, let's see, it will be 2045 when I'm 80.....I see that by that time we will all be 'microchip' (like our pets now) and 'big brother' will follow our every move. Which, in my instance might be nice, since I am starting to suffer from CRS.....
Geesh! I hate having to use a calculator this early in the morning! Let's see, I will be 80 in 2041 if I am so fortunate. In my observation of the most seasoned of our citizens, being a little bit of a curmudgeon is the key to longevity. I think I am right on track there. The world? It will be radically different and it won't. While technology and maybe our environment will change, people will not.
But Gumdrop my Railroad Hat is off to you sir! Happy 80th and many returns or as we would say in the Navy, "May you have fair winds and following seas Shipmate"

Ok...let me think...since I'm only 29, I'll be 80 in 2057....and I'll still be 29!
Wine Fairie you probably need to provide your insight into this new math you are using to CinCin so she can include it in her curriculum, especially for her female students. :-)

I, however, will be 80 in 2040 ... I have no idea what the world will be like .... but I hope that I am willing to adapt and learn the new technologies like Gumdrop has! Not many 80-somethings are online!!

I will reach 80 in 28 years - that sounds like a lot, and it is. Neither of my parents got that far, so I hope I can, and thatI am still with Cin when I get there.

Gumdrop, happy birthday. you have been an inspiration with your wit, kindness to strangers (me), and wisdom.
I will be 80 in 2036, if I make it that far. I hope to use the lessons I've learned thus far to make as much of an impact on others as you have. For example: anger does no one any good, especially you. Forgiveness is vital to any relationship with any person--even if they're not your intimate. Charity is important to the soul. Judgement is not our job, our maker will take care of that. The life we're given is a gift to be charished with family and friends, and anger, bitterness, and/or grudges do not respect that gift and cause you and others pain.
Thank you Gumdrop for your friendship. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us all each day. Instead of gifts to you, you are a gift to us.

I'll now step off my soapbox.
I have no idea when I'll be 80. I age backwards. I just turned 32 a few days ago. I'm not sure what happens when I hit zero. I guess then start aging frontwards again, so that would make me hit 80 somewhere around the year 2118.

Morning Gumdrops and Happy Birthday!
Nope, I'm not a Texan. I'd never been to Texas until I went to visit CinCin and Tom last month. I live in Eastern WA in Spokane. And it might not be the great white north...but it's sure been acting like it the last couple of weeks!
WF is in Washington State ... RH is in Pennsylvania .... Catmadam is in Arkansas .... PEF and Patr wish they were in Maine .... Silly Gilly is in California .... Bree is in California ....
