oh no..... who has the lead foot?

I have only received 2 speeding tickets. (knock on wood) and both, I knew I was going to fast, so I didn't argue. Signed up for defensive driving (which is really all about drinking & driving) and got the tickets waived.

I have gotten a few traffic tickets in my life (about 5 total). While I might explain my actions, I never argue with an officer. If I feel I am in the right, I will go to court and plead my case. I have only done that once.

I have only received one speeding ticket in my life. The officer asked me to explain--I did. He gave me the ticket anyway. I went to the judge, explained to her, she assessed $150 for the ticket. I paid half, forgot the other half because it happened in the middle of my divorce. The city issued a warrent for me. My ex held my mail. I was almost arrested. I paid the other half, and now I will not go through the town that issued the warrent--ever.

Nope, never argue with the cop. I don't fight the ticket but I usually ask for a court date to ask for a lesser fine. I drive over 40,000 miles a year and although I haven't had a ticket in over 3 years, I used to get one about every 2 years for about 5 to 10 miles over the limit. I always explained to the judge, that yes, I was speeding but obviously was not a danger, had no accidents and with the amount of miles I drove I deserved a break. I usually got it. I asked for it to be 'shelved', which means if I didn't get another infraction for a year it would drop off my record. This really kept my insurance rates low as due to my mileage are higher than most.

Nope, I don't argue, and have never fought one (I have never received one I felt was not deserved).

It has been my experience that most cops will give you up to about 5 mph over the limit before they will pull you over.

JUST GOT ONE OF THEM YEARS AGO WHILE
IN COLLEGE, KNEW I WAS WRONG SO WHY
ARGUE,HE MIGHT HAVE DECIDED I DESERVED AN OMVI. THE JUDGE MUST HAVE KNOWN I GOT $75 A MONTH AS A GI
GOING TO COLLEGE,THAT'S WHAT HE CHARGED ME. LIVED ON MILK AND CRACKERS THE REST OF THE MONTH. NEVER TEMPTED TO SPEED AGAIN, THE MILK AND CRACKERS WAS A VERY GOOD
REMINDER ALL THESE YEARS.

I've only gotten one speeding ticket in my life, although I've been stopped for speeding numerous times. I've never argued with the cop. I do always look really sad (it's not an act - I am sad) about it and they usually let me go with a warning after they check my record and see that it's clean.

The one ticket I got, the cop told me that I could sign up for community service and not pay it and keep it off my record, but I was super busy at the time, so just paid it and didn't even bother to go to court.
