What would you do if you were walking around your neighborhood and came across a battered box filled with neatly stacked $100 bills .... totalling $25,000 ... sitting in the gutter??

Take it to the police station, and not tell anyone. After 30 days, it would be mine.
I would carefully count it - then throw it in a big pile on my bed and wallow in it.
My understanding about the legal aspect of found money is that if you turn it in and no one claims it for 30 days, it is yours. So, after checking with my attorney to confirm this, I would turn it in to the police and watch the calendar.
Scout the scene very carefully to make sure that I wasn't being watched. make sure the money wasn't counterfeit, tagged radioactively or with ultraviolet dust, or any other sort of marker. Afterall I would gladly sacrifice a $100 to obtain $24,900.
"IN THE GUTTER" EWWWWWW!!! NO DOUBT
IT WOULD BE ALL DIRTY AND WHO KNOWS
WHERE IT HAD BEEN, EWWWWWWW!!!
I WOULD LEAVE IT THERE AND CALL THE
TV NEWS TO COME TAKE A PICTURE OF IT FOR THE EVENING NEWS AND MAYBE SOMEONE WOULD SEE IT AND KNOW THEY
FOUND THEIR BOX.
HOW COULD THOSE FOLKS OVER IN THE
OTHER COLUMN WANT TO WAIT 30 DAYS
AND THEN SAY IT WAS THEIRS???????
Call the police. then beg for a reward.
take it to the police and hope it does not belog to anyone.
Eh! I agree with totsie but I think I'll still tell my mom or a best friend about it.
