My birth mother put me up for adoption......which led me to two wonderful parents as an infant 2 days old.

I did finally located her in 2000 at the age of 35. She lives here in Fort Worth and we have a good friendship. It has been an amazing discovery and adventure.

Had I not been put up for adoption, my name was going to be Jennifer Maxine Wait

When I was 7, I was lost in downtown Frankfurt Germany - on my 2nd day in Germany. A kind German man found some MP's who helped me find my way home.

I was in elementary school and I was invited to a birthday party of one of my classmates. It was a pool party and I did not know how to swim at that time. I really wasn't enjoying the party very much because I could not swim and all my classmates were in the pool. Yep, you guessed I literally jumped into the deep end of the pool and began to sink like a rock to the bottom. One of the chaperones turned around and noticed I was no longer there. She dove in and brought me up, thus saving me from drowning.

My father passed away very suddenly just 9 months after we emigrated to Canada. I was 27 years old and the mother of 3 small children, and had never travelled on my own, but we had to raise a bank loan just to afford my fare back to England. The circumstances of his death sent me into shock and I was medicated heavily before the journey.
I was blessed to be seated next to a Doctor from Vancouver who comforted and took care of me for the 11 hour journey. He then walked me through the airport upon arrival, collected my baggage and searched for and delivered me to my brother.
He slipped quietly away and I didn't even know his name.
I think he was an angel.

My car broke down in the middle of absolutely nowhere on I-20 between Abeline and Big Springs, TX .... this was before cell phones in 1984.

I tried walking to a nearby farmhouse ... but the people saw me coming and pulled their blinds and locked their door and refused to answer when I knocked.

So I was walking back to my car along the side of the interstate and a Guy pulled off the road in front of me.

I walked up to the truck and he said "OH ... if I'd known you were a woman I wouldn't have stopped!"

I said "Why?"

He said ... "Women scream RAPE and stuff like that ..."

I said I promised not to scream it if he promised not to do it!

He didn't know anything about cars ... but he was willing to tie my car to the back of his NEW pick-up and tow me into the next town ... I had no power steering ... no power brakes ... and he was towing me at 65mph down the interstate!! YIKES!! I was so afraid of crashing into the back of his new truck!!

The town we got to only had one repair shop open ... and they said I needed to have my distributer cap replaced and it would take 2.5-3 hours to get the part and get it fixed ...

This stranger ... his name was Ronald ... stayed with me the whole time ... and made sure this place didn't overcharge me ... when I offered to buy him dinner in Big Springs he said "SURE!" and he followed me to Big Springs which was 1.5 hours away ... I exited to get to the place we had agreed to meet for dinner and he waved and kept on going ...

And I never saw him again ...
