Well ... back in the day ... when I was in my teens .... I probably would have cried and wanted to die and hated that person forever ... (I was a sensitive soul).
But now!! ... I would probably laugh along with everyone else and begin to devise a way to get them back. I feel that would be expected from a good friend!
I hope I would laugh - and thinkof ways to get even.
well, First off I would wonder why my "friend" was doing something that would make me look ridiculous? Was it because I truly needed this be brought to my attention or is it because my "friend" has a need to pull those around her/him down a peg? If it was for negative reasons, not just lack of judgement, I would have to rethink my friendship. I've never pulled practical jokes of that nature so I'm not sure of the humor behind them. I love practical jokes, but not of a negative nature.
If it is just a question of a person with poor taste, I'd probably just laugh it off (and plot revenge...eheheheheh!)
i think i would laugh, and then call them something very mean.
This has happened to me. I guess I needed to be brought to Earth. I laughed. If we take ourselves too seriously, we get hurt too easily.
Seeing as i usually do a good job of embarrassing myself, my friends don't have a need to create embarrassing situations for me.
However, i think that people who embarrass others on purpose do so to fill a need in themselves and that it really has nothing to do with the recipient. I would take my friend aside and find out what was going on...help them figure out a solution...and then remind them i could get them back when they least expected it...oh...i'm just kidding!
i like to think i have a good sense of humor, but in reality, i am very thin-skinned. in all honesty, i would be hurt. i would probably try to act like i was ok, but then when i was alone, i'd cry and wonder what was wrong with me that made that person want to hurt and embarass me like that.
I'm afraid I would be very hurt...it's one of my "foibles".
It's not in my nature to ridicule people and I don't enjoy the feeling...
