MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL OF YOU
I do not know how old I was ... but I wanted a Barbie Doll. They were THE hot item ... brand new to the scene. I must have been 4 or 5 years old. I wanted her so much ... but everywhere was "sold out" of dolls in my hometown area. (At least, that is what Mom and Dad led me to believe).
At 5am Christmas morning, my siblings and I snuck downstairs ... and hanging out of the top of my stocking was BARBIE!! My sister got one, too. We were so excited!!
We immediately removed her from her original packaging ... (who would have thought she'd be worth thousands of $$ later??) ... and we played with her for years and years ....
I guess that is my first real memory of wanting something SO MUCH ... and having it come true.
when my sister and i were little we used to wake myparents up at 5 in the morning to open presents.
making Christmas happen for my nieces...staying up until 2 in the morning putting together doll houses...writing notes from santa...getting the family dog (a rottwiler) to take a bite of an apple so it would look like ruldoph had done it...i didn't lose any fingers that year...
