Doing something "special" just to get some recognition smacks of hubris. I would not do it.
But . . .
If circumstances were to put me in a position where I do somehting special, and I receive recognition for it, I would not necessarily turn it down.
[1]POSTAGE STAMP---NO, NOT BIG ENOUGH.
[2]STATUE IN A PARK----NO WAY, UNLESS THERE WOULD BE AN ATTENDANT
24/7 TO CLEAN THE BIRD S--- OFF.
[3] COLLEGE---NAW THE ROTTEN KIDS
WOULD ALWAYS BE PROTESTING.
[4]POSSIBILITY IF THEY UP THE PRIZE
MONEY.
[5]HOLIDAY---NO WAY, PEOPLE WOULD
NOT BOW DOWN IN REVERENCE. THEY
WOULD JUST GO GOLFING OR FISHEN'
I wouldn't either. I 'give up' a lot everyday - you know! Give up my time to be at the job, etc. I agree with bronco & gumdrop.
No, not at all.
I agree with the others. Too many sacrifices now just to get thru life.
