I would say I am acquainted with the neighbors on either side of me. I know pretty much all of their names. We are good speaking terms. I have fixed one of my neighbors pressure tanks (we have our own wells) on more than one occasion when her husband is out on the road. She made Pat and I fresh tamales in return. But I wouldn't say that we well acquainted friends.

Sadly, no. I even have a hard time remembering their names.

When I lived in Haltom City, my neighbor and I became very close and we helped eachother through some very tough times. She and I have moved on with our lives and we no longer do things together. Quite sad. I miss her.

Only my parents that live across the street. I have met most of my neighbors. We had a gathering last summer to meet each other. Everyone that showed was nice.
Now my back neighbor and their nasty filthy uncared for doggies. NOT! They dont'even answer the door.

We know some of them to say hello - but that is about it, sad to say

Yes - The neighbor across the street (Robert) is one of the best neighbors I've ever had, and he tells me the same.

The Chinese neighbors are very friendly, quiet and desire to learn english, which I help them with their english and emergencies like when the gas meter was leaking to the point where it was going to blow up if a flame was introduced.

Across from the Chinese neighbors is an American family, he books aventure trips and she teaches in the Garland School system. They seem get along with us great!

On the other side is a black family, again Ms. Loraine is very nice and we always have a good talk. Her children are great as well. She and her kids won't associate with the mexican family even though they have kids as well.

The Mexicans (name of guilty withheld) across the street are for the most part nice, very noisy at all hours and do not wish to integrate into our neighborhood. I know which of the Mexican kids to steer clear of.

My 'Good Neighbor' and I have repeatedly asked the Mexican family to go out to events or too dinner, and each time it is some sort of excuse why they can't, so we have given up on even trying to reach out to them since it is quite evident they do not wish to know us at all unless we are going to hire him to do tree, yard and fence work. In other words he just wants our money.

Are we noticing a trend here yet?

We know a few neighbors by name, but mostly we just waive as we drive or walk by. My neighbor across the street had a baby a couple of months ago and I haven't even been by to congratulate her or see the baby. It's sad considering that when I was growing up, we knew our neighbors as well as we knew our own families.

WE don't know our neightbors very well at all ... and I think that is really sad.

However ... I just met the woman across the road from us and it turns out that she used to be a Middle School Math teacher!! She left teaching to earn more money in the corporate world of Verizon ... but after 6 years with them recently got laid off. Now she is looking for a job ....

Well ... I have had to turn down people needing tutoring because I am full ... and I have been looking for somewhere to send people I have to turn down!! PLUS ... I would rather not deal with middleschoolers!!! .... so ... how perfect is this??

And she seems really nice!!

Sadly .... she has lived there for TWO YEARS and we are just now meeting ... that is shameful on my part.
