I love all kinds of music from classical to country to rock but the music I listen to most often is only indigenous music of our country, Jazz. I love Dixieland, Big Band, and Bebop. Modern Jazz I can take in small doses. The span of Louis Armstrong's life pretty much covers the best jazz and coincidentally marks the ascent, the zenith and the downfall of Jazz.
Rock & roll when in an "up" mood (usual mood).
Jazz when mellow.
Blues & R&B when contemplative.
I listen to everything except country and rap. Classical relaxes me, rock and roll gets me motivated. Pop music really ahs no effect on me except if the lyrics relate to a feeling or situation in my life.
oh, I will listen to just about anything except Rap. My favorites though are Ray Charles, Nat King Cole, Sinatra, Mr Armstrong, Van Morrison just to name a few. Current artists: Stacey Kent, Diana Krall, Allison Krauss, George Strait. In the CD player now: Sting.
I like music in general. I mostly listen to Jimmy Buffett (I'm a Parrothead). I also like classical (Brahms), country, blues, and some jazz. I like the standards as they're being redone by modern artists like Rod Stewart. I cannot abide Rap.
Oh, I would also concur with my wife's musical selections, she has excellent taste in music and men....:-)

hip hop/rap when i am getting ready for a game. Rock for just when ever.
I like most kinds of music except RAP .... although Country really does depress me, so I try not to listen to it very much.
I think when I am relaxing at home, I really like the New-Age artists like Yanni and Enya ... and my Pure Moods CD's ... peaceful. I also LOVE Celtic music, especially the old Irish and Scottish Ballads.
I have my radio set on an 80's 90's and today station for when I tutor ... the music is agreeable to all involved.
