Simple
1. All photo albums and negatives period!
2. All the Trains I can carry.
Since my wife asked what about me and the beagles - I assumed the word items inferred that all loved ones were already out of the burning house as I collect my photos and trains.
Assuming that all pets and family members are safe, my purse, the jewlery box, any albums/negatives PEF could not carry, and the Tom Everhart lithograph.
The scenario described by Cindy happened to us last night.
I grabbed my wallet and briefcase (with my laptop), and put the dog on her leash. I also backed the car out of the garage.
Cindy grabbed her purse and laptop.
Robbie grabbed his school books! What a great kid!
The cats were hiding.
I would make sure the kids were out, try to grab the cats, my purse, cell phone, a picture or two of my family, and my house folder.
Bronco and Cin, I hope you're okay--the house too.

MENTION OF THE AA MEETING AT BJ'S.
I HOPE NO DAMAGE WAS DONE TO YOUR HOUSE AND IT WAS JUST 'SMOKE AND
PRODUCTS OF COMBUSTION' BLOWING OVER FROM YOUR NEIGHBOR THAT SET OFF THE DETECTOR.
I'D GRAB THE PHOTOS OF THE KIDS AND
THEN STAND IN THE YARD AND TELL THE
FIREMEN HOW TO PUT OUT THE FIRE&SMOKE.
My purse,my computer dvd's (that's where the pics are)my cat. if I took that much time. Mostly I would get the HE!! out of there.
Ummmm .... seeing as this happened to us last night ... I should be drinking bloody mary's right now!! But I will wait for beer tonight!!
It was the downstairs A/C unit motor which burned up and put smoke through the Ducts downstairs, no damage to the house ... just to our pocketbooks getting the dang thing replaced ...
Most of my photos are on my laptop ... but I really need to scan the ones in frames around the house and all of the Mackinnon Family photos, too.
And .... I should have saved my DVD's!!
All in all ... everything is fine ... I will will drink beers tonight!
