We have an artificial tree and I always had that growing up. We tried a real tree a couple of times, but allergies would not cooperate, so we stick with the fake one. Lot less mess too!!
If I had a tree it would be real. I come for the oak area of Louisiana, and nothing locks in Christmas like the smell of a real Christams tree. Unfortunately at a young age my sister developed an allergy to the Scots Pine, or whatever Christmas tree we used, and we had to switch to an artificial one.
We have an artificial one, but we always had a real one when I was growing up, and I miss it.
We have artificial trees both of the green and aluminum variety and while I love any well decorated tree of any type, my favorite is still real trees. Its all about the getting it and setting it up and the smell.
REAL!!!!
This year tiny tiny tiny fake tree due to new kitten (did I mention it was tiny)
We always had real trees growing up. We had real trees until the kids were about 6 and 9. Loved the whole tradition of going to the "Farm" and picking it out and cutting it down, etc. then it dawned on us WHY the kids were sick every Christmas! Allergies! Duh! Now we have a a fake one that looks sort of real! (And the needles don't dry up and fall off whenever someone walks across the room!)
Growing up we always had real ones. After marriage I started with artificial. Last year we didn't put one up. This year, Suz and I found a paper one at the book store, so we're going with that.
We have a pre-lit artificial tree and that is fine with me.
Growing up, we always had real trees which we had to wire into a corner to keep upright. The cats all thought the real trees were great fun .... and the smell was truly a Christmas smell ...
But there was always a fear of fires .... and the trees lost needles and turned brown ... and it was sad.
artificial - the real ones set off my allergies.
To be honest, my favorite is the aluminum tree with a color wheel. (I have 2 of them!)
