Oooh...smashing question! I would first consult with counselors on the best way to preserve and make it grow so I could do the many things I would want to do. I would continue my same methods of giving and charity I practice now, only on a larger scale. My sis and I disucss this all the time and our no. 1 "fun" would be to do random, anonymous acts...like the mother of small children struggling with her coupons and menu planner in the store...pay for her cartload of groceries as she goes through the check stand, but don't tell her who did it!

Underwrite small underfunded charity missions, I have a fave eye doctor who takes his family to Ghana twice a ear to restore site to locals. I would help fund his clinic.

And me...I'd buy my dream cottage on a bit of good land and in the basement would be one heck of a wine cellar and wine bar!

I would do something with the house I have...invest, donate, endow, have a body lift, travel, go back to school for something fun but enriching. Enjoy what I have now.

First, I would buy my dad his dream car and I would buy my mom her dream house. Then, I would send them to Europe and Africa. They have let me go already but they have never been themselves. After that, I would begin investing what was left and making sure that it would last and that it would grow. Finally, I would anonomously support several different charities and research foundations. I am sure that some where in there, however, I would find enough time and money to buy a house, my dream car, and start my own restaurant/bakery.

I would help pay off the debt on our new church, pay off my debts, and the debts of all my kids, then invest in good funds, buy a motorhome, and hit the road.

I heard somewhere that for every million dollars you win, you would collect $60,000 per year after taxes if you took the 20 yr payout. Even at $50k per year per million, that would be $1 million per year after taxes for 20 years. 1/3 of that would be plenty for my needs, even if I wanted to buy a nice house, travel, and invest for the future. With the other 2/3, I would help some friends, establish a trust fund for my niece and nephew, endowments for the arts, and scholarships for needy students. how incredible that would be!

Firstly I would have someone independently verify that I in-fact had won. Once verified, then I would embark upon the following.

1. Place the necessary amount into an investment to supply my operating expenses.

2. With the ramaining I would call Million-Air at addison airport and book an adequately sized lear jet.

3. Invite all my friends to fly us into Lajitas,Texas.

4. All of us would stay at the resort while those that play golf, play golf. Those that ride bikes, well go ride bikes.

5. Those who choose would go with me to see Clay Henry (The mayor of Lajitas) which is a goat that drinks beer until it passes out. I would have a personal contest to see who can drink beer and pass out first! Hey what are freinds for if not to scrap you up and pour you into bed after passing out, besides it is all on my dime.

6. I would invite all to make the short drive to Terlingua and eat Chilli at the Starlight Theatre and enjoy one of Gods most beautiful sights, Sunset in Terligua with the sun setting and the absolutely gorgeous rock formations to the east or Terlingua, particularly when the sunlight becomes 'sweet light' and the color matches the rock colors, especially on the rock pillars.

7. Daily guided tours of the Big Bend National Park and Big Bend State Park (Not one in the same.

8. Visit some freinds of mine in Marathon, TX. Go eat and drink at The White Buffalo BAr and Restaurant.

9. Visit Mcdonald Observatory, and what the heck purchase the place and look at whatever we want. Or better yet bring a telescope and enjoy the beautiful heavens that you can't get here in the greater DFW area. Or go see ths Marfa Lights, which are raelly UFO's on their way to abduct us for anal probing.

10. After returning home, plan the next trip.

So is it a game plan folks. Just one little problem. Only a fool plays the lottery. Ask the two mathematicians who live in Tom and Cindy's house of the odds of hitting the lottery. A massive combinatorial analysis multiplied by a permutation (power ball), yeah right; You gotta chance!

BTW - I have ALWAYS wondered about the solvency of the lottery and privately suspected that it can't pay out as much as it does. Guess what, the Lottery Commision, formerly headed by Hariet Miers no less, admitted that the payouts aren't as large as advertised! Wonder why?

Please excuse my poor spelling in the previous posting. I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed today. I've been figting the cold/flu going around that people seem to bring into work.

The question was the first thing I would do. The 1st thing I would do is walk into the mayors office and say those words I so long to say "I QUIT"
