Yes, I just finished Thunderstruck by Eric Larson. Little slow starting but what a good book! A work of non-fiction just like his book "Devil in the White City", it involves the intersection of two figures in history, Guglielmo Marconi, the inventor of wireless communication and Hawley Harvey Crippen the most unlikely of murderers. Fascinating story.
I have been reading 2 new authors lately - Stephen Hunter and Lee Childs - both mystery/military writers.
I'm currently reading alot of self help items:
Love by Leo Buscalglia ***** The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen R. Covey ***** The Sugar Solution by Sari Harrar *****
I am almost done with: It's Okay to Miss the Bed on the First Jump: And Other Life Lessons I Learned from Dogs by John O'Hurley - Yes, John O'Hurley of Dancing with the Stars, Seinfeld and currently playing King Aurthur in Spam-a-lot in Vegas. Very sweet and funny book.
I'm waiting for one now. We shall see.
If I'm So Smart, Why Can'tI Lose Weight? Tools to Get it Done:by Brooke Castillo.
The last thing I read was a garden catalogue. Sad huh? You know I can't sit down. MMwwwwaaa!
Yes- The Purpose Driven Life. The title is self-evident.
I've just received Between the Bridge and the River by Craig Ferguson. It's gotten a lot of great reviews. I'll need something good to occupy my time after surgery! LOL
I am very much enjoying "The No.1 Ladies' Detective Agency" books by Alexander McCall Smith.
I have 4 of them ... and now I see there are 4 more out there ...
These books are set in Batswana, Africa and are fairly easy reads ... but there is a deeper philosophical component to them which often gives me pause ...
There is a morality to them ... but no preachiness ...
Great summer reading ....
