Along with the honesty, integrity and loyalty, my friends need to have common or similar interests, a good sense of humor and a zest for life.

I don't know if these two are most important, but I am closest with friends who are always honest and who accept me for the goof ball I am.
Common Sense! I have very little time for fools.
Humor - but not mean spirited
Compassion, honesty, loyalty and probably a little on the conservative side politically. Not that I look for that in particular, but it is what I'm drawn to.
