I have 3 people I have been friends with for more than 10 years - these are people that I still see and keep contact with. Not too many, but considering my personality, I think I am doing well.

I have a couple or 3 more that I hope are still in my life in another 10 years.

Let's see... I have one girlfriend from 7th grade. She and I have kids the same age. I have a girlfriend who shares a divorce with me--her ex and mine were good buddies. We went to college together. I have one bud from high school and my first "serious" boyfriend. I have other buds from high school, but my two girlfriends are the best and oldest/

My best friend from childhood is still an important person in my life, so that's 43 years!
My 2 best girlfriends in Canada are like my sisters and its been 21 years.
I have about 3 friends here who I hsve been fond of for 16 years....and then there's my fewls who I hope will be a part of my life for 10 years or more..

There are only a handfull off friendships that have lasted for 10 years or more. One ex-military buddy I've known since 1980. Friends in my home town I've known even longer than that. In the Greater DFW area, I have friends from Oklahoma that moved here, and therefore I've known them more than 10 years, but they live in far FT. Worth which is a really long trip for me. Besides he's married with kids and I think some of you know how that can affect the single guy as the friend.

I've lived in the DFW area since 1995. So technically I could have friends here that I've known for 10 years, however it took me until 1997 to really start to get to know people from the area.

I can't prognosticate who will be friends in the future, but I'll sure try and keep in touch.

I think I will still be friends with you ten years from now, Cindy. I sure hope so anyway.

I have 2 20 yearers, 4 10+yearers and 3 8-yearers! I count myself lucky to find the kind of friends you want to keep for a long time...and these friends have won the lifetime friendship award, no doubt! (So Tom, that means you are stuck with me!)

I have also fired a few "friends" but that's another story for another question of the day!

I have 2 ex-students who are now dear friends ... and I hope they will continue for many more years ... Also a teacher I worked with in the mid-90's .... and an on-and-off relationship with a friend I met through my son.

I hope all these people are still my friends 10 years from now ... along with the many more friends I have made since the Internet entered my life .... I found Tom and his friends found girlfriends and wives and I hope we are all friends for a long time ... and of course ... my FEWLISH friends ...
