Question #80

Question #191 from "The Book of Questions" by Gregory Stock, PH.

Would you rather be happy yet slow-witted and unimaginative ... or unhappy yet bright and creative? For example, would you rather live the life of a brilliant, yet tortured, artist such as Vincent van Gogh .... or that of a happy but carefree soul who is a bit simple minded?

Explain your choice ...

I like me as I am - brilliant & creative while at the same time happy & contented.

Oh yeah ... sure .... Bronco always wants the best of all worlds ... can't stay within the bounds of the question ... geez ....

I would be quite happy to be the happy but carefree soul who is a bit simple-minded ... it seems I see a lot of peole out there who are like that .... and amazingly, someone always seems to be taking care of them!

I'm a bit tired of the tortured genius thing, myself ...

That's easy. I'd rather be happy and slow. What good is anything if you aren't happy?

Happiness is the ultimate success...however its achieved.

Besides I'm already simple minded!

Dang CinCin! Ignorance is bliss? But I also know some very bright(even brilliant) creative people who are not unhappy. So why couldn't I have a little of both if I were able to choose?

Congrats on your eye sweetie!

Happy and simpleminded.

I love animals. Why? They live life day by day. I had a dog once who lost both his hind legs from a car accident. BOTH. And yet as soon as he got out of the anestesia effects, he was all barking and wagging his tail. I cried instantly (and I'm a man). But I understood him. He wasn't thinking how miserable he should be... woah him, no legs.. what a pitty. He was just alive and happy to be alive. Eating. Playing with me. Etc.

What's all the brilliance worth if you're not happy in life?
