Fortunately, just severe thunderstorms and light hail. I have not experienced anything more severe.
Yesterday was pretty freaky. I don't like sideways wind.
Spring 1975 - Haslet, TX - 4th grade - Tornado came through town.... demolished the cotton gin, ripped up the play ground equipment and lifted the roof of the building I was in and set it down a little 'uneven'.... If you stood in one corner of the class room you could see the sky above....quite scary.
Huricanes (and even "tail ends" of huricanes can be pretty bad around here), Nor'easters that dumped 6 feet of snow on us and then there were days when it snowed followed by ice storms followed by more snow followed by more ice, etc. A few years ago, we had some twisters touch down near us. It missed our house but it did a lot of damage nearby and there were some fatalities, unfortunately.
Kansas in the 1st grade - we had a tornado go down our street - it was GREAT!!
Other cool weather:
- a 36 inch snow fall in 1 day in Boulder, CO in May
- 35 below zero with snow in Breckenridge, CO. It is true that when it is that cold, pee freezes belore it hits the ground. And your nose hairs freeze and break off.
i have only been in a hail storm when i was eight and i was home alone
