Just things I wonder about ... and some people are nice enough to answer. You are welcome to answer, too ... just click on "Comments" and off you go! I am the worst kind of conversationalist. I not only talk a lot but I finish other people's sentences. I do actively listen or how would otherwise be able to finish their sentences. I also can stop a conversation and then come back to it minutes, hours or even days later which really drives people crazy.
I would like to think I listen, but I am sure I talk more than I should.
And, instead of listening when some one else is talking, I amprobably just thuinking about what I will say next.
I will say that my new career is forcing me to listen better.
LOL .... I like PEF's answer!
I would I like to think I listen ... but I am much like Mr. Rant .... I am always busy trying to think of the next thing I am going to say instead of truly focusing on what the person is saying.
I need to work on that ....
Sometimes people just want to be heard .... they don't want to be fixed or healed or advised or one-upped ....
Just listening can be a wonderful gift ....
Oh the ability to hear! What a wonderful gift it is.... if we could just use it correctly. If any of you read Dilbert - the character of One Up-manship describes so many I know... and I worry sometime that I am that person. Recently (yesterday) I had to be the listener for two of my close friends who are having real life crisis'....I hope I served them well and provided an ear vs. a mouth. Also, many people do just need an ear and not a solution manager….. thus, we ‘ANALYTICAL’ types must learn to hold back....
i ussualy listen more my friends dont let me talk
