Q #14
Would you rather be extremely successful professionally and have a tolerable yet unexciting private life, or have an extremely happy private life and only a tolerable and uninspiring professional life?

I have had both and am currently in the second option (happy with a tolerable professional life), and I have to say, I prefer it over the other option. However, I would love to have both. Just have to figure out how to pay the bills while doing something I love.
Waaa I have to choose? I pretty much have both... except it all depends on DH werkin his booty off. I would trade the house for more husband easy.
If I have to choose ... it would be the Happy Private Life. That is much more important to me.
I actuality ... it is playing out that I have both! Define extremely successful professional ... I am doing pretty well! And I am doing it from home!!
The latter - much better to have a great home life - it is easier to change the professional life to something more satifying.
I agree. A happy home life is better to have...still working on that one.
I believe the late John Candy said it best in Planes, Trains & Automobiles (in the character of Dell Griffith)"Like your job, Love your wife!". Worlds to live by.
Private life versus professional. In my opinion it is easier to achieve self actualization in private life than in a professional capacity. Besides, with rare exception professional achievement requires other professionals. Privately I only have to deal with significant other and kids if they are in the picture.
This is easy Happy Private Life! As for professional life...I'm retired!bree
If your private life is happy, your professional life will take care of itself.
happy private life
