Hmmmmm .... I did like the Dr. Seuss books .... Green Eggs and Ham ... Hop on Pop ... etc. And Aesop's Fables ....
I don't remember a certain set of characters being my favorites, though.

Dr. Seuss was my hero for many years. I was thrilled when I met him when I was 15. However, my lifelong favorite is To Kill a Mockingbird.
My favorite children's book of all time was "Where the Wild Things Are" by Maurice Sendak. Loved going with Max on his adventures. "Rumpus, Rumpus, Rumpus!"
