We haven't been to a concert in ages, but would love to have a good show come through town. A "guilty" pleasure that we're considering is the American Idol tour ... might be interesting to see how the top 10 contestants are being packaged :-)
We recently saw Cas Haley at the Granada in Dallas and also saw Hoobastank there. Nice, smaller venue with very eclectic and up-and-coming bands. Saw Night Ranger with the KISS cover band, Destroyer, at the Glass Cactus in Grapevine at the Gaylord. Great bar atmosphere with fantastic outdoor seating. Very upscale and I was surrounded by "the beautiful people", but I didn't let that get to me! :) Not bad as far as concerts go either, just fairly small. Those are the only shows we've seen in the past couple of years.
Hoping to see BOC tomorrow night with the fabulous Mackinnons!!
We saw Riverdance at the Nokia .... I really like the Nokia venue.
I think the last concert we went to was at the Richardson Wildflower Festival last year ... we saw FogHat and Grand Funk Railroad ... LOL.
We are returning to the RWF this weekend to see Blue Oyster Cult, The Guess Who, and America ...
Oh Boy!!
Love Nokia and the Bass in Fort Worth.. Not a bad seat in the house.
Over the past few years have been to:
Avril Lavenge, Ashlee Simpson, Hillary Duff, Ray Ramono, BB King, Chinesse Flying Group (Amazing)
Ash saw the Jonas Brothers and Kelly Clarkson.
Only problem is the seats and my behind are not the same size ;)
Of us all, I am going to assume I attend the most concerts. I save my tickets. Recently saw Roger Waters (think Pink Floyd) at the Superpages (think Starplex). The Starplex is an outstanding venue in the proper weather. For Indoors I think Nokia can't be beat for size and seating. Bronco Bowl is gone but it was a dive anyway. The American Airlines Center handles more people, and therefore it's where I saw the Foo Fighters this year. For sheer beauty the AAC is best, however I still prefer Nokia.
Pat and I really need to make a CONCERTed effort to attend a concert in the near future. We like Bass Hall and I like the Meyerson, thought Pat has not been. I have not visited any of the outdoor venues largely because the concert series occur in the heat of the Texas summer and NO VENUE is nice in that heat!
We did the Western Swing Party in Proctor this weekend. Music was 'okay' company was WONDERFUL. My Girls group was there with the kids, so a good time was had by all.
