Question #705

If your new job required you to work only 50% of the work week in their offices and the rest of it from home, how would you break up your work week? Do you think you would like that?

ABOLUTELY. I've never been able to telecommute, but I sure would love to try it. Of course my job is kind of a touchy feely kind of thing, so I know working from home is not reality. Kind of tough to teach from home.

I would go into the office on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday then work from home on Monday and Friday. The middle days of the week are typically the most productive at work. When most people are in the office. On second thought....

dang work policies...... my answer............if you could please post.....

I would love it. I would work 10 hours on Monday & Tuesday. 10 hours on Wednesday & Thursday from home. And have Friday's off. This is a VERY viable option for my current position, were it something Acme would allow.

I work a 9/80 schedule at this moment. (M-Th 9 hour days, 1st Fr 8 hours and 2nd Fr -0- hours).

With the rising price of fuel, I think more companies need to allow their employees to work remotely when possible. While some people will abuse it, there are ways to track VPN activities for computer users and it should be manageable.

I think I would go in the office at the beginning of the week and get it over with. I would have to have a babysitter to work from home, I can't even seem to get my housecleaning laundry etc done while entertaining the kiddos.

Definetely - I'd go in every other day, get more done, and probably get it where I could get Mondays off, or start at half-day.
