If you decided to go on a Spiritual Journey ... where would you go and what would you do?

This is a really interesting question. To my way of thinking it almost implies that there is or should be a distinction between any journey and a spiritual one and I am not quite sure it works that way. I don't know if you can consciously embark on a spiritual journey any more than you can embark on a journey and find spirtuality within it. In my life's experience, I have taken many journeys both figurative and actual and I have found spirituality in both types. It is almost always serendipitous and never planned.

However if I could plan and execute a spiritual journey, I would want to go back to the creation of this reality, universe or whatever you want to call it. I can't imagine or fathom anything more awe inspiring both spiritually and intellectually.

For so many people, going on a Spiritual Journey means going somewhere quiet and beautiful to be alone and listen for the voice of God ... or find something within themselves.

And that was my first thought .... disconnect from the world ... no phone, no computer, no TV, no radio ... Mountains, moving water, beauty, isolation ... seek my spirit from within and listen to the spirit surrounding me ....

But then I thought about how TRUE Spirit is found in sharing life with others ... living, loving, laughing, helping, guiding, being.

To isolate yourself seems a bit selfish.

So ... to answer the question ... if I were to go on a truly Spritual Journey, I would probably go somewhere beautiful, but impoverished, and work with the people who live there .... take a journal and write about it all ...

Oh, how can you not take a spiritual journey when looking into the sweet face of a sleeping child? Or into a pair of eyes of a loved one? I think that there is an opportunity to make that journey in every breath.
-------
That being said however, I never give up an opportunity to TRAVEL!!!
----------
I would start with the Grand Canyon at Dawn! The trip would then have to go into the Rocky Mountains. The quiet of water flowing over rocks and the wildlife in the forrest all framed by the snow caped peaks. The end of the trip would have to take me to the oceans edge for sunset.

Along the way I would evaluate my life and how my being can influence the world and people in associate with.

When do we start? I'm ready!!!
