I do go out of my way to thank someone who has done me a favor. I really appreciate that extra effort from someone. I'm usually a willing hand for friends and realatives.

How do I feel when I'm not thanked? I'm kind of wrankled. I believe that person falls a bit in my estimation. Sorry to say, but it's true. However, I understand that not everyone was raised in a strong household, so I guess I'm learning to be forgiving.

I am really really bad about writing Thank-You notes ... I always try to thank the person face-to-face .... but should then follow-up with a written note. I have no excuse given the ease of email.

We have a dear friend who is expert at thanking us in writing ... he puts me to shame sometimes!!

If I go out of my way to help someone, they usually do thank me verbally ... and I appreciate that a lot. If there is no verbal thank you ... and no note .... grrrrrrr .....

I don't ever expect a written note ... but do like receiving them!

Thank you's are nice but unnecessary when I do something for someone else. If what I did was above and beyond the call . . . I like to be acknowledged. If I am not thanked for somehtinmg like that, I will think twice about doing something nice for that person again.

I try to always thank someone when they do something nice for me.

I hated having to write thank you notes as a kid...even though my mother required it (being the epitome of manners that she is!) (Come to think of it...I hate sending Christmas cards, too...) So, I don't expect anything but a verbal thank you...or better yet, just seeing the person enjoy or get benefit from whatever I've helped with. I try not to hold grudges against thankless folks...maybe they don't know any better!

I really try to acknowledge anyone who makes a special effort for me...to let them know how much it means. But I'm hopeless at the writing stuff....its almost always verbal.
I feel a little disappointed when I don't get a positive reaction to my own efforts.....it makes me think it wasn't quite enough.

I always try to thank everyone, even the people who clean the trays in the cafeteria. I sometimes don't get around to writing an actual 'thank you note' for people who live further away but I really try. And I like doing things for other people, hearing 'thank you's is nice but not something that I need, just knowing I'm helping even if it's little is enough. :)
