When I was Teaching in the public schools the answer would have been SUMMER ... because I have week after week of vacation time ...

Now, I'd have to say FALL. A true FALL .... with Crisp Air and Falling Leaves ... a Harvest Moon ... the sounds of migrating geese ... frost on the grass ...

Here it is ... Sept. 19th ... lows this week of 75 ... highs of 97 ... bring on the FALL weather, PLEASE!!!

CLAIMING SENIORITY.....I WILL CLAIM SPRING AND FALL.[2 PICKS]
SPRING BECAUSE IT IS THE END OF THE #$%^^*())++_)(*&^$#!@!COLD WEATHER HERE IN IOWA, AND ALL THE TREES AND GRASS AND FLOWERS AGAIN TAKE ON COLORS. FALL BECAUSE IT IS THE MOST COLORFUL OF ALL THE SEASONS AND MARKS THE END OF THE #@%%&*^$$(()_(*^ HOT HUMID WEATHER.

I don't have a season imparticular that is my favorite. I just want things to be cool and dry. Texas really doesn't have true seasons, not in the Northern sense. For instance it has been bitterly cold on Jan 1 of some years, yet warm enough for me to swim on say Jan 3rd. Yeap, you read it here, Jan 3, 1996; I was swimming in an outdoor pool. It almost reached 80 degrees that day.

If I had to make a choice, which this questions isn't forcing me to do, it would be winter if you associate cold/cool and dry. Given that Texas weather oscillates, cool and dry can happen in most any season.

BTW - this is the hottest September I recall. In 2000, Labor Day reached 111 degrees, but then mother nature gave us a break the rest of the month. Noth this year!

my favorite season is the changing of the season...when there's that touch of anticipation in the air...that something new is just around the corner...it seems there are endless possibilites...and perhaps i'm just a hopeless romantic...

I can't say I have a favorite season. I like them all. I appreciate the long hot days of summer when I can sleep late and still have all day long to accomplish something...or not. I love the fall, short though it is in Texas when the air is cool and nature is going to sleep. I love the cold wet days of winter when I can snuggle in a blanket and pillow with a book and a hot cup of tea. Spring is not to be missed with life in our faces with new growth and baby birds. Gawd, I sound so-o-o-o-o sappy! Pardon me while I wipe the tears from my face and suck snot.

This is a hard one for me.
In Flolrida we have Summer, Summer and Summer and I can swim everyday and whiz around on my Little Red Golf Cart, go birding, boating and all the fun outdoor things all year.
Ergo, I love Summer but I truly miss the Indiana Fall with the crisp air(Sweatshirt and Jeans days) and the absolutely georgous colors of the leaves in Brown County and the wonderful smells of Fall.
