I watch NBC morning news to catch the weather and traffic, so I see some news there. I read the headlines on Yahoo! News most days, but do not read the paper, as in "tree killing/wasteful printed paper", very often.
If I do see one it is the Star Telegram since I'm in Fort Worth most of the time.
I read the free USA Today fish wrapper if I am in a hotel on business. I listen to the NBC news in the morning getting ready and I check CNN online throughout the day if I have time. If it is a story that I am really interested in and I want perspective on the story, I will check several other online sources such as Fox News, ABC, NBC or MSNBC but that is very rare.
I also check ESPN and SI for sports also online. I used to try to stay very current on the news even international news and politics but I have found decreasing value in it as I get older. Life is more about my family and my interests than the greater world. While I believe I can make a difference in this world, I don't spend a lot of time fretting over things I have little influence or control to change.
I obtain my news from the web and TV. I particularly like the PBS News Hour. They provide more indepth coverage without commercials and the hype associated with it.
Also you can tell when someone is telling a lie on the News Hour. It's pretty evident.
The latest blatant lie on the News Hour was when the 2nd in command of Hamas made an appearance on the program right as the conflict started. The bold faced lies this guy was trying to pass off on the public and it was SO easy for the news reporter to poke holes in their B.S. The standard person could easily tell this person was telling outright massive lies.
When the Supreme Court makes rullings, you ahve a person their to explain it in terms that everyone can expalin, like the Washington D.C. strike down of gun possession.
Anyway I have waxed enough about the News Hour.
I love to read our San Francisco Chronicle---been reading it since I first was learning how to read! IMHO there is nothing so special as the feel of a newspaper and enjoying my "cuppa coffee" ans paper starts my day! We do watch evening ABC/PBS news...during election last year did watch the cable networks---but that was 2008!
From time to time I do enjoy checking in on BBC.
In this new year I think it will be less newsy stuff...more entertainment!...need to re-energize my brain cells! lol
I read the Dallas Morning News .... mainly the Front Page and the Metro Sections every day. I also keep an eye on Yahoo News stories. Rarely watch news on TV anymore ...
