Do you believe in Heaven?

If so ... what do you think it will be like?

If not, what do you think happens when you die?

I don't believe we have the capacity to understand heaven...it will be something "other" than we could even dream about. Something so tremendous our best adjectives don't even come close to describing. And, when you think about this life as being a temporary assignment...that the things we endure here are just passing, fleeting moments on our way home to Heaven...well that just makes things a little bit easier.

There is a heaven. John and I promised we would love eachother in this life and we would be joined in the next. I have to believe.

thank you all for your kind words.

There is definitely life after death. Exactly what that entails I don't think we can know in this life.

I am comforted by the idea that we move on to another plain of existence, whether it is the heaven of the Christian tradition or something completely different.

Meanwhile, I will enjoy each day here, and relish all the joy and pain that comes with living.

I beleive there is a heaven ... or at least another plane of existence. I think those we love and those who have loved us will meet again beyond death ... but how it all works ... the great mystery.

I beleive there is a cycle of life ... I think my beliefs are similar to the Hindu belief system.

There is a poem I love called
"Death is Nothing at All" by Henry Scott Holland .... you can try running a search for it ... or I will forward you a copy if you'd like ... just ask.

Yes I do. I don't know what exactly it will be like, but I think it will be a wonderful place, full of love and light and peace, where we will see our loved ones again.

There are too many accounts of people coming back from the dead and telling remarkably similar stories regarding going into a big light, meeting loved ones and even people they did not know during their earthly existence. So it would seem from other peoples accounts of near death and post death experiences that something is out there. Some speculate that this is merely a mechanism by which the die-ing brain protects itself during death. Afterall the human brain has had millions of years of practice at life and death, and our subconscious protects us from a great many things instinctually.

However if our essence is indeed not permitted to exit our corporeal body, and it is just a short term mechanism to get the body to accept the inevitable, i.e. death, then it lends itself to even more speculation as too what does happen with our psyche/soul upon death. Does it end up in an all dark place like Dante's writings, or do we really transcend into an 'existence' beyond our present perceptive abilities?

The nightmare for me would be that my psyche/soul endures after death, and yet due to the loss of all senses is locked in a limitless - dark void. By my accounting here I would soon lose my sanity in such a situation.

I never knew who Totsie was until now. I believe there is a heaven and some days I can't wait to find out what it will be like, and some days I hope it is far far off from now. Strange thing life is......

Love you Totsie, glad you and John believed in Heaven together...
