Question #173

Question #192 from "The Book of Questions" by Gregory Stock, PH.D.

When you are with your friends, do your interactions include much touching - for example, hugging, kissing, roughhousing, or rubbing backs?

Would you like to have more of this?

Generally no, and I am not the type to force on anybody a hug if they don't want one. I occassionally pat someone on the back.

Therte are usually greeting that involve hugs, handshakes, etc. And farewells that are the same.

I like it with people I care about - otherwise no so much.

I do like these things from friends .... people I know and like ....

If women I don't know well are too touchy, touchy I begin to feel claustrophobic ... if men are too touchy, touchy (and they aren't gay) I get very creeped out (unless it is my hubby, of course).

I'm Italian! I grew up with PDA's! LOL But I will not invade someone's Personal Space if I feel they do not want it invaded. And I try to make it clear with my body language if I don't want mine invaded from someone who makes me feel uncomfortable, as well. "Good touching" (back rub, hug, etc) from a friend or loved one releases endorphins which are "the feel good" chemicals. The world needs more endorphins! LOL
