Because they are WAY smarter than dogs and humans ...
I mean, look at a cat's life!! Eat, sleep, eat, sleep, sleep, find a warm lap and sleep more, eat, find a ray of sunshine and sleep more, chase a bird, sleep ...
Meanwhile ... the humans are working hard to keep food in the cat's bowl and a roof over their head ...
hmmmmmm ....

JC WANTED TO GET ALL THE DUMB MORTALS OFF HIS BACK, SO HE INVENTED THE CAT AND A BUNCH OF PEOPLE TO WONDER WHY. HEE HEE
