Question #424

I hate this type of problem ....


If it takes 10 people 12 hours to do a certain job, how many hours would it take 6 people, working at the same rate, to do 1/4 of the same job?

A. 6 hours

B. 5 hours

C. 4.5 hours

D. 4 hours

E. 3.75 hours


Can YOU do it?

Yes. 10 People * 12 Hours = 120 People*hours. 120 people*hours/6 people = 20 hours. 20 hours * 1/4 =
20 hours /4 = 5 hours

It would take 6 people doing the same rate of work 5 hours to complete 1/4 of the job.

But wait, are the 6 people in the IT department? IF so, all bets are off because we will have to draw up a requirements document, design a process workflow, get a minimum 3 bids on our 'request for proposal', invite the top 3 vendors out to do demonstrations in front of 200 employees who will never login to the system anyway, and then pick the vendor..... once this is done, I need a 'none' of the above!

I love my job.
