Question #653

Did you go to College? If so, where? Would you like to be able to go back to college again? What courses would you take?

I have gone to community college only. Northern Essex College.

I did take every art class they offered and one I made up.

I occasionally think that I could go back to college and get a degree.

I'm not sure why.

It may just be 'the paper' or it may be because I loved being around all the different people.

Different ages... different styles.

I love being around teachers too.

I have teacher friends and always have....... had teacher friends. MMwwwa!

I think maybe I just want to teach.

I went for two years to two different schools, Keene State College in Keene, NH and University of Southern Maine in Portland, ME. Studied Fine Art and Communications. Then went into the Navy to become a cryptologic linquist, studying Spanish and Russian working in the great oxymoron, Naval Intelligence which as my wife reminds me is all about lint.

I would go back to college in a heartbeat if I didn't have to work. I don't really want to do both at the same time. Based upon where I am in my career there is no compelling need to go back to school for work but I would love to go back because I LOVE to learn.

I went to West Chester University and got my degree in Psychology with a minor in Special Ed. and Early Childhood Ed. I would not want to go back to college again at the present time. I would, however, like to take up some sort of Art Classes (like sculpting or pottery, etc.) I used to paint and maybe I could pick that up again. Maybe in a few years after my own kids are finished with College, I'd explore the idea, but not now.

I went to San Jose State in San Jose, CA.---If I were to go back to college I would go else where. I would change my Major. But in reality I won't be going back and the jobs I had during my employee years didn't require a college degree---today they would!

I went to the University of Louisiana, at that time was named University of Southwestern Louisiana. We are better known as 'Rajin Cajuns'.

I was SO ready too be done with school that I didn't want to take another course.

Yes
Tarrant County Junior College, North Texas State University (BS in Accounting) and University of Texas at Arlington.

(TCJC became Tarrant County Community College, NTSU became University of North Texas the semester I graduated with a BS)

And NO, I never want to go back to college. I started college during my senior year of high school, then didn't take a semester off until I graduated 5 years later. I love learning and taking classes, but not for credit where there are TESTS and professors who teach in the BLACK & WHITE....where the world is all grey. I tried going back to UTA after being in the workforce a few years and found it very 'stiff'.

Hmmmm...the summer after H.S. graduation moving back to TX from Germany. Found a job, and an apartment, and went to work. In September I started at UT--the real one in Austin. AFter I started, I took only one summer session off, and I graduated in 1978 with a BSEd. My degree is no longer offered because of changes in TX law.

Would I go back to school? If I could get rid of my kids I would try an external MS or MEd. I already have an approved thesis topic for a MA in English, but I would have to go to New York for 1/2 of it. I don't think that's in the cards. To do a MEd. I'd like to focus on alternative ed in C & I. Either topic is moot. I can retire in 5 years.

Yes ... I went to Monmouth College and graduated with a BA in Mathematics ...

I think I would like to go back to college ... but more to teach! And to audit classes ... listen and learn.

Philosophy, religions, life!
