Yes and its usually just plain jealousy. Depending on who it is, I will take one of several tacks: Ignore them, revel in my happiness even more or if I am feeling sympathetic, see if I can get them to join in and enjoy themselves.
People that can't be happy for others are people who don't like themselves. And yes some of it is jealousy. But the root of it is poor self esteem.
Old cliché': Misery loves company and hates optimists.
I have spent the last 4 years working side by side with a wallowing, miserable, sad, angry, pitiful low self esteem person. She was petty and gloried in bad mouthing other people (opps, that is what I'm doing now but I'm making a point).....
Anyway, since I no longer work with her, I don't feel that cloud of grey over my head anymore.....
but I do think that if depression is contagious if exposed long enough.
me again: they say Laughter is contagious...
There are always those that want to rain on your parade...I usually ignore them.
I sure hope I've never done this!
Seeing others happy is wonderful!
I'm an incurable optimist !!!!
BREE
Don't know what I think of this one. I do know that I don't feel that way. I appreciate the good fortune of my friends. Cin may not agree with the mathmatics of this equasion but I believe that pain shared is halved, but joy shared is doubled.
Go figure.
