I have two younger sisters, one is married and has two kids and lives in Yarmouth, Maine. The other is unmarried and lives with her domestic partner in Provincetown, Massachussets at the tip of Cape Cod. I always wish I could see them more and wished we lived closer together. I usually see once a year, some years more than once a year and some less.
I have 2 siblings:
An older brother lives in Maryland or Virginia (not sure what his arrangements are right now).
My older sister lives in Louisiana. I see them two or three times a year.
I get along well with my brother, and we have become closer in the past 10 years. My sister and I? Not so much. She is a strange woman with issues.
You have ask a mouth full. I have 9 siblings. There were 5 boys and 5 girls. I have lost three brothers and one sister.
I have one brother that lives in Thackerville OK. about one mile from my 90yr. old Mother. One brother that lives in Gainesville Tx. as well as one sister. One sister lives in Sanger Tx. and the other sister lives in Irving Tx.
We get together when we can. But not to often. We all get alone just fine. And yes I would like to see them more.
I am the baby of 7! 5 boys, 2 girls. There is a 10-year age gap between me and the youngest boy, but it doesn't seem to matter. My sister passed away a few years ago, so it's just me and the boys now. My oldest brother (he's close to 60 years old) lives in Maryland, next one down is in Jenks, OK, next one is in Florida, next is in San Diego and the youngest is in Tulsa, OK. Everyone is or has been married and has 1-4 kids. Most of their kids are my age, so it's like having close to 20 siblings LOL
We only get to see everyone once, maybe twice each year and I hate it. We are one of the closest families I know and love spending time together. All of my friends and my daughter's friends love to come over when everyone comes to my place...we're just one big happy family :)
I am the oldest, Sean and Karen live in Flower Mound. Shellaey and John moved from Allen,Tx to Atlanta Georgia. Michael and Molly live nearby Lafayette,LA. THe local brother and family I see enough. I do not visit my sister in Atlanta. I see my parents and brother when I visit Lafayette. Things are just right!
Zero, None, Zilch, Nada
I am one of those spoiled only children and totally regret not having siblings.
I am adopted, and have met my birth mother, and alas she did not have any other children.
My birth father on the other hand does have children, but alas he does not know about me.
Question for the members here: Would you seek out the birth father knowing the birth mother and adopted parents would perfer you NOT to go down that path?
Hi patr...I think I would only go down the path of seeking out my birth father if I felt he would be happy about it. After all the time that has passed, I don't know that it would be worth it to me to meet someone that doesn't care to meet me. If he has no knowledge of you, it could be quite a shock to the system to find out he has a grown son! It also sounds as if it might cause a lot of grief for your birth mother as well as the family you have grown up with and loved all these years, so you really have to weigh how much it's worth to you.
I have 3 siblings. Two beothers and one sister. One of my brothers, David, passed away 14 years ago and he is greatly missed.
My sister, Lori, lives in Perth, Australia and she is visiting America starting today!! She will be in the States for a month. She is coming to Texas next week and we are looking forward to her visit!
My other brother, Mike, lives in Rochelle, Illinois ... our hometown.
We actually don't see each other very often .... less than once a year now that Mom has passed away.
She would not be happy with that!
Thanks pampalmer7!
