When you can no longer spend your life in school without going broke because no one is supporting you. And teaching doesn't count here....

Actually the best, most fun people never grow up.

Thats just it, when do you know when you are grown up? It's a Yin and Yang question. You think you've got life's lessons learned, and then life comes along and teaches you another big one.
In other words seems to me the majority of us are constantly seeking out life's lessons, sometimes unwillfully. However if you could live to be 200 years old with a resonable expectation of quality of life, life itself would still be teaching you life's little lessons.

So as Tom and I like to use golf analogies to describe situations, you can practice your whole life in the pursuit of perfecting your golf game, yet not achieve perfect golf. So you continue to seek out something you can not attain. Then there are those that are happy with only 1 hole-in-one in their life! O.K. - all done here, I've reached the pinnacle.

It is for these reasons that I can't stand people who turn there heads off at a certain age and continue to cruise on autopilot asleep at the wheel!

The sad thing is thats it's all a part of the human condition, and I'm in that club too!

1)when you worry about money and taking care of your family, you are grown up

2) When you can go to the bathroom by your self.

I am still waiting for #2 to be true

What is the saying? "I have to grow older, but I refuse to grow up?"

In certain areas of my life ... TRUE! But for the most part it is when you know that the "go to person" in your life is YOU. And you are willing to take responsibilty for that.

All kidding aside, I think growing up means that you still have dreams but you have comittments that keep you grounded. Or at least that is what growing up has been for me. My chains are much heaver now and I don't see the links getting less in the near future.
