First Choice - Photography, second choice would be something with Audio, especially Audio using vacumm tubes as they have grown in popularity recently.
As for photography - I work an 8 to 6 job and that makes it difficult at the end of the day to work photography. Weekends are for Weddings.
The only reason I haven't switched is that the business hasn't reached critical mass.
It would be the Model Railroad History Museum. A museum setup to display and operate famous model railroads. Many of the great modelers in my hobby build these fantastic masterpieces of miniturization and then have to tear them down or sell them off if they move, change jobs or pass on. I think there should be a permanent place for the public to see these railroads and model railraoders to come and operate them.
I would also like to couple a for profit business of running Hobby Shows such as model train shows, dollhouse and minature shows, craft etc. to provide funds to run the museum.
We could have a huge Holiday Show too, with Santa Claus, lots of trains, X-mas tree sales, holiday crafts and goodies etc.
In general have a great time running trains and eating really good baked goods.
Why haven't I done it yet? I need the money for a really big building like a huge old warehouse structure, preferablly next to an active railroad line. Don't worry, I keep looking. It will happen just a matter of time.
If you could run your own business, what would it be? Photography - but not people, yuck.
Do you think you could earn a living doing this? to support me in the manor in which I have become accustomed? no.
Why haven't you done it? I like having money.

I am running my own business and actually making a living doing it!!
However, if I didn't have benefits from my husband's company, there might be issues.
I am running a Math Tutoring business.
I would love to open a diner/ bakery. One of those places where you can order your kids birthday cake or sit at the counter and have a drugstore fountain drink with a sandwich.
We are trying to figure out how to come up with the $ for it. The deli in the office complex I work at may come available so one never knows.
