Giving my 60 day notice tomorrow.
It is only my beleif that the focus on 'giving something up' for Lent distracts from the opportunity to gain from Lent. Please let me explain. Yes, Jesus dd go for 40 days and 40 nights without food or water, or perhaps very little food and water, I'll research that, however it is my understanding that he did it as a sort of sabbatical to strenghten his spirit. I don't perceive Lent anymore as giving something up so much as the opportunity to gain something spiritually. I for one wish to deppen my understanding of the Bible and what it teaches, put it into to practive within reason on planet earth, and pray more that our world stops killing people using God and religion as their motivation.
Peace, Love and Happiness be to yu all on this All Souls Day!
Bronco and I are giving up alcohol for 40 days and 40 nights ... and doing Phase 1 of SBD .... and I am trying to limit myself on the SBD website ....
