On Sunday the Chicago Bears will play the Indianapolis Colts in the Super Bowl.

I am cheering for the Indianapolis Colts. I like their coach Tony Dungy who is a quality person as is Peyton Manning and Marvin Harrison and pretty much everyone on that team. The integrity of the players is a reflection of the management and coaching of that time. I've always liked the Colts since the days of Johnny Unitas and Peyton is a direct throwback to Johnny U. But the Colts will have to earn this Super Bowl. Chicago will not hand it to them. And when they do earn it, it will be all that much more deserved.

Who: Colts
Why: Peyton Manning is a nice guy.

Okay, as many of you know, I don't like football, so I'm very happy when the super bowl arrives... It heralds the end to my misery. Boo and hiss at me all you want....

Da Bears!

I want Manning to go down as the 2nd best quarterback never to win the Super Bowl (Dan Marino is the best).

Patr is acting Un-American - PEF, educate that girl!

Da Bears. In college I tutored a Bear.

Actually Bronco - Dan Marino is NOT THE BEST quarterback to never win the Super Bowl, Jim Kelly is!

Dan Marino went to one, count it ONE Super Bowl and did not win.

Jim Kelly led his team to FOUR Super Bowls and did not win.

No contest, end of story, period!

Marino was great, but Fran Tarketon, many of whose records Marino broke, took his team to the Super Bowl THREE times and lost.

So no more about Marino being the best quarterback to never go. :-)

Da BEARS!!

I grew up a Bears fan in Northern Illinois. So I am sticking with the team of my roots.

When did Indianapolis get a football team?

CinCin - Indianapolis got a football team because John Elway refused to play for the Baltimore Colts, the team that drafted him out of Stanford in 1983. Shortly thereafter in 1984, they packed the team up in the Mayflower trucks and sneaked out of Baltimore in the middle of a snow night on March 29th to Indy, because Baltimore would not build them a new stadium, something they did to lure the Cleveland Browns to Baltimore to become the Ravens in 1996.

FYI - John Elway is the anti-christ in the city of Baltimore. They have never forgiven him.

I'M CHEERING BECAUSE SUNDAY THEY
PLAY THEIR LITTLE GAME AND THEN IT
WONT BE ALL OVER THE PAPER AND NEWS
ANYMORE.

I'm cheering for the commercials. For me they are far more entertaining than the drone of the sportcaster who tells you what you already saw and know.

It will be interesting to see which commercial wins the covetted
Doritos low cost amateur entry?

GO HUGH & GUMDROP!!!!!

And back to my distaste for football: I would love football if

A: they took away the announcers and just let me watch the game. With a DVR, I can rewind and see replays.

B: The poor overpaid babies need to stop showboating and do their job. They are paid to play football not cry because they only got 1/2 of the front page of the paper. And the few games I have watched, this is exactly what the Colts do. The majority of the players show up to play football and they are backed by management. They are not there to say "HEY HEY LOOK AT ME"...

So to sum it up: It is not football that I hate, it is all that goes with it.
