Three Questions? Three? When we are limited to ONE answer and admonished if we provide more than one? :-)
To answer your questions - I used to ride my bike to school but now I take my lunch.
I lived in the same house from age 3-22 and I rode a school bus all my years of school.
In K-8th grade we were either first ones on, first ones off ... or Last on, Last off ... they alternated every month, I think it was. The route was and hour or so long.
In 9-12th grade we were always First on, First off and the route was about 90 minutes long ....
I lived in a farming community in Northern Illinois.
Pfffffttttt to PEF ....
I was like PEF - I took my lunch, not the bus. I had many ways to get to school, as I went to 10 different schools in 8 states and 2 countries during those years.
THE WIND SWUNG AROUND AND CAME UP
FROM TEX, GOT SO WARM 25 THAT ALL THE SNOW THAT WAS BOTTLED UP BECASE IT WAS TO COLD TO SNOW CAME DOWN LAST NIGHT. BACK TO MINUS NUMBERS
AGAIN LATTER THIS WEEK.
GOLLEE YOU KIDS HAD ALL THE LUCK GETTING TO RIDE THE BIG YELLOW BUSES. I WALKED THE WHOLE WAY EVERY
DAY TO SCHOOL. NO CARRYING LUNCH EITHER. WE HAD GRADE SCHOOL AND HIGH
SCHOOL IN THE SAME BUILDING AND OUR
HOUSE WAS NEXT DOOR TO THE BIG SCHOOL HOUSE. NEVER MEASURED IT WHEN
I WAS A LITTLE GUY BUT IN HIGH SCHOOL IT WAS A LONG 187 STEPS. ALL YOU KIDS HAD THE FUN!!!!!!!!
Bronco was sooooo abused. I only went to 9 schools from first to 9th grade, got lucky and stayed in the same high school for 4 years. Rode buses sometimes, took public transportation sometimes and walked sometimes. Always ate lunch made by Mom or Miss Gerty.
All of our family rode a bus for about 30 mins to get too school. Yes, we were lucky enough to live in one place and go to the same school. That however was not the situation for the families whose parents worked for oil companies. They were in town for about
18 months to 2 years max before they moved away. Lost alot of friends that way.
k - 6th: mom drove
7 - 9th: Rode the big yellow bus. I was the first one on the route and in the morniings sat on that bus for 2+ hours. But in the afternoons, I was the first one home.
10th - college graduation: drove my own car. Sweet! Highschool was 12 miles away. College: 24
I lived in the same house in Haslet for 24 years. Mom & Dad still live there.
