Did you watch the Oscars last night? yes, but we shut it off at 9:30 pm cst. Up to that point it was very boring...did it get better?

Have you seen any of the movies? I did go to Dreamgirls, Pirates and Cars this year. All 3 were good movies and Jennifer Hudson deserved her Oscar.

Do you care about any of that stuff? Don't know if 'care' is the word. I do enojoy watching the glitz and glamour of the red carpet.

Watched and thought it was way too long and pretty boring most of the time.(The Sound and Movement Chorus was especially interesting! LOL)

We saw The Departed,Little Miss Sunshine and The Devil Wears Prada.Still would like to see Blood Diamond, Dreamgirls and Babel. SH and the kids saw Pirates of The Carribean.

Not really. It's pretty much the same every year.(I do enjoy seeing the dresses, etc.) But there wasn't much else on and hubby was busy working.

Didn't watch - except for about 1 minute at 10 pm - some Italian guy was droning on in Italian with Clint Eastwood translating.

Saw The Departed - that was a good movie.

Don't care about the awards at all.

I watched some with PATR. Her assessment was right on. I have only seen two of the movies Pirates and Cars, both of which were a lot of fun.

I like seeing Salma Hayek, Kate Winslet and Beyonce during the red carpet stuff. But outside of that, I am usually only interested in the Oscars if there is a movie I really enjoyed and want to see it do well. Other than that, there is not too much about it that holds my interest.

Though I have to admit I thought Ellen DeGeneres did a good job hosting. They should have had more of her on and less of the other stuff.

Would love to see pre-recorded Oscar acceptance speaches, that basically say. "I thank the Academy and everyone in my movie". NEXT!

I watched some of it. I never can sit thru a whole awards show. I like seeing the dresses etc. I saw Little Miss Sunshine and couldn't take my eyes off the tv the whole movie. We have watched "The Departed" which is so GOOD! I also saw The Devil wears Prada which I THINK EVERY woman will like it! Its so good. Jarrod even liked it. Tom Thumb on 3040 has this new dvd rental machine and are offering your first rental free. I want to see The Illusionist and An Inconvenient Truth. They look quite interesting. So by watching the awards I made a mental list of what I want to rent. Think they do that on purpose???

Did you watch the Oscars last night? - No . Have you seen any of the movies? Yes - Cars. Do you care about any of that Stuff? NO!.

As the shock-jock Howard Stern has said the Oscars are superfluos. I concur. These are my opinions and mine alone. Anybody claiming them should pay royalties - here we go.

The only reason The Oscars make it onto TV is because Hollywood feeds on itself and makes strategic purchases, i.e. TV Networks to ensure their perpetual distribution. I ceased caring when Denzel Washington won for 'Training Day' and Halle Berry won for 'Monsters Ball'. Denzel did a much better performance in 'Malcolm X' - however I beleive Pacino won the Oscar that year for 'Scent of a Wowan'. 'Crimson Tide' Denzel Washington/ Gene Hackman - again was a better performance on the part of Denzel as compared to training day. Don't even get me started on Halle Berry.

In short it is my belief that the Oscars for 2001 was simply Affirmative Action in action. This has cheapened the Motion Picture Academy. It is no longer about the acting performance as it relates to American Films (i.e. non-foreign films). It is about rewarding the people involved in the mega-money-making blockbuster movies. When that becomes your criteria as the trending seems to be with repsect to the MPA, I do not wish to be a willing participant in watching a so called 'awards' show. The way I figure it the people have already been awarded with the mega-millions they made on the flick. Why do I need to watch an awards show that just reminds the world which movies made the most money?
