Of course there are! Cheese Whizzzzz!!! About living on the planet? I dunno, Michael Jackson! You can't be so arrogant that you think we are the ONLY living entity in the entire galaxy - opps - GALAXIES!!! The Good Lord had fun in his six days. He just didn't think we should concern ourselves with the goings-on in other places. He knew we would have enough crap to worry about with ourselves on THIS planet.

While I do not believe this planet is the only one with life in the whole universe, let alone the Milky Way galaxy, I do not think we have been visited any time lately. If beings can cross interstellar space to visit here, why be secret about it?
It's not like we puny humans can do anything to them.
So, maybe on UFO's and little green men, no on current visits, and definitely no on them living among us.

Wow....I don't having strong opinions either way, but yet I do think we are not alone in this huge universe...and that we may not be alone on this planet even. That being said, I'll just keep my rose colored glasses on and keep doing what I'm doing and not worry about it.
The TV program "In Search Of" when investigating Alien/UFO visits exposed a rock that had a very unusual coil looking device in it. It was only when the person had used the 'rock saw' that it was discovered, and then examined by x-ray. Estimated age of the rock was 220 million years old.
Enrico Fermi the great physicist said we would know by now if there were civilizations as advanced as us in that we would received their transmissions. SETI has yet to identify an 'intelligent' signal.
The Drake equation, even though we do not and can not at this time lock in all the variables shows us that the galaxy has many civilizations as advanced as us, if not more.
Just this week a person set up a private observatory to look for LASER interstellar communications instead of in the 'non-visual' range. It is beleived that LASER comm. is better for interstellar comm. if the frequency of light is NOT the light color of the nearby star, i.e. red star, use green light laser.
We are JUST beginning to scratch what we think we know about the galaxy, let alone the universe.
Are there intelligent life out there -YES! Are they say 5,10,50 or 100 Light years away? Good question.
Dr. Michio Kaku said " Do not discount the possiblity that a civilization a million years more advanced than us could harness the power of a billion suns to create a fold in space-time to travel vast distances in an instant".
In short we'll never know. For now there is no conclusive scientific evidence to prove any aliens have visited earth. Anecdotale evidence about the 'Dogan' tribe of Africa can be found at the address below, or " The Dogan tribe and the Little Blue men". How does a stone age culture know that the star Sirius, the brighest non solar system star in the sky has companion stars orbiting it before modern science knew it using observatory methods? HMMM!

I like Hugh's answer. I think "they" have been here in the past ... and that there is a chance "they" are here now ... or at least are watching us now.
Maybe we are the "white mice" of their scientific experiments?
