I think it will be a BETTER place ... but that is probably because I am an optimist.

Look back 100 years ... is the world a better place now in 2005 compared to 1905? In many ways, yes!! In many other ways, NO!

Define "better".

100 years from now ... 2105 .... I will be 145 years old .... my son will be 115 my son's children would be in their 80's ... their children in their 50's .... with all of my offspring in the world ... I have to say it will be a better place overall!!

This is a hard question.

The way we are treating our earth we may not have much to work with in 100 years from now, but maybe with advanced technology it could be a better world. I know it will be a totally "different" world then we know now.

I wish for a better world for future generations.

It will be worse because we will no longer be in it, but with medical and technological advances, it will be a better place - my guess is less poverty, more renewable energy sources (fusion power!), regrowable organs - NOT cloning (need a new heart?- just let ReGen grow you a new one - east credit terms, no money down!)

I think it will be worse. Morally and spiritually.

Based on hollywood's interpretation of the future, it doesn't get better without a fight. We make great strides in technology at the cost of mother earth. Remember iRobot and Matrix and Minority Report. There's always some corrupt power pulling the wool over the people's eyes. And then the people rally around and end up winning the battle in the end...typical hollywood storyline.

As a society, do we see these movies as pop culture or do we actually get the message? That is, are we paying more attention to the ground we walk on and the air we breath? Or just to the latest gadgetry?

Environmental hyperfocus is part of living in Austin...I thought I'd try it on for this question!

A better place - not sure, but definitely a different place!

Both -- it will be better in some asects and worse in others.

I'm thinking it will be better. Technology is doubling at an incredible rate right now. Knowledge is making quantum leaps. On the other hand, I hope we (I) am helping my children grow up to be thoughtful people. People who can grasp the global implications of their choices. The impact on the Earth, the impact on other people will be the test of their decisions. I'm hopeful that I'm doing a good job.

I have no idea! How's that for deep and philisophical? LOL

Better. I truly believe in the good of the human heart. However, my definition of "good" may differ greatly from others.

it is going to be a much worse place because everyone is just chasing their pleasures and I see it getting worse
