I usually acknowledge it. Especially if I sense that it is sincere. Although I do know some people who are really fake about their compliments ... and I dislike that.

I do know that when I GIVE a compliment, it is very sincere, and it bothers me if it gets "pooh-poohed" by the person I complimented.

I guess I tend to deflect compliments, not necessarily accept them graciously.

In years past, my self-esteem has taken an awful beating. Sometimes it's still in the dumpster. I've learned that I can help myself by accepting a compliment. I try to be an humble person, but as I age I'm learning some grace about accepting such comments--I hope.

I usually acknowledge it except when I know that I do not deserve it.

I am like cincin - I dislike the "fake" compliments especially given by a person seeking something from me and they think I am dumb enough not to realize it.

I do love giving compliments and always look for something good to say about everyone. (from Grandma-ma). "If you can't say anythng good, then do not say anything at all". Wise beautful Lady.

Both really. That way they can have the answer they want. What a suck up!

I'm a work in progress on that particular project. I try to accept compliments graciously, having learned that it is irritating when GIVING a compliment to have it negated, no matter what the self esteem issue ....
I love to compliment others whenever the opportunity arises.

I am getting much better at knowing I deserve compliments and acknowledging them in a way that encourages more! I didn't have much self-esteem as a kid...and sometimes still struggle as an adult to recognize just how amazing I really am...as we all are! I'm just lucky to have good friends who remind me thru compliments...so, many thanks for all the support and encouragement!

I usually say "Thank you" and I don't know why, I just do.

I split the fence here - if I feel like I really deserved it, then I graciously accept it. However, most of the time I feel like deeds that I do are not for recognition, and complements are not what I am looking for.
