EXCELLENT QUESTION - I prefer to drive, see alot more on the ground, etc. I am hard pressed to fly since our airways are not safe.
I still prefer to fly even with all of the hassles. When your favorite place to vacation is 2500+ miles away and it takes 6 days of travel round trip (out of a 9 day vacation) flying is about the only way to go.
Now, were high speed train availalbe, that would be my #1 choice!
I love to drive but practically speaking if the distance is over about 800-1000 miles, I will fly. I love the act of flying, just do not enjoy what flying has become in recent years. Its a huge hassle and very uncomfortable.
Favorite mode of travel is still the train, very civilized and very relaxing.
It depends on where I'm going I guess. For example, we're traveling to Montreal this weekend. The flight would be realtively short, but it's less of a hassle for us to drive. Anything more than a day or two more of driving, it's probably wiser for us to fly.
NEITHER ONE.......
1]I NO LONGER 'HAVE' TO TRAVEL
2]BEEN EVERYWHERE I WANTED TO.
ONCE AGAIN "I GOT IT MADE"
It just depends on the length of the trip, how much time I have to spend on the trip, etc.
I love driving, as you can stop and see more of the country and sites along the way.
I also love flying as you get to see a lot from the air and it's a quck way to get there. A lot of the enjoyment is gone since my husband's death, however, as it's impossible for me not to think about it when in a plane.
FLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(Even with a kid)
