Why does God allow child abusers/molesters/murderers to exist?

God gave us free will - all of us, even the worst among us. And evil takes root in the weak willed and gullible.
So, as we have free will to do awful things, so too do we have free will to do beautiful things - like take child molesters and shoot them once behind their right ears - they will molest no more after that.

I honestly have no idea. Evil exists. And such people are truly evil.
I really don't know how to answer this question.
Ditto to Andrealg! Ultimatly Jesus Christ bore all of the sins for all of us on the cross. Unfortunately we have and will CHOOSE to commit offenses against the will of God which can and do become the hurt of others as well as ourselves. But Praise the Lord He has given us the only way to complete forgivness and eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord! One day soon this will all be gone...what is critical is where we each CHOOSE where we will spend eternity and how we live here while we are given the Blessed opportunity to share Christ with others.
We all have free will. Some use it to live a life of peace and just try to get along. Some are defective and go with that. Sometimes I think we need contrast to see where we can go, if we let evil go unchecked. All societies have always had people like this in them. Most were hidden. Today with media so immediate we hear more of the cruelty and horrific actions of these individuals.
Bottom line. God gave us the world. It's up to us to be its steward and recognize evil for what it is and check its progress in individuals and larger groups.

and, how would we know good without evil? it's the ying and yang thing once again.
however, violent crimes against children are too horrific for words...there's a remote pasture out in Luling just waiting for some good fertilizer...save the damn bullet and bury them alive!
