As much as I can get.

I remember a couple of years ago, my wife threw me a 50th surprise party - on a Friday at our favorite watering hole - many of our friends attended - even one of my brothers came in from out of town. It was great. The next day I got to play golf with 2 of my brothers, and when I came home, the house was full of friends and neighbors - the true surprise party!! The one the day before was a decoy!

It was fantastic, one of the best things that anyone every did for me.

My wife is really, really special.

None - People don't know my birthday. I continually FORGET my own birthday to the point where others have to remind me of it when it occurs.

As a child when Mom would ask what I wanted for my birthday, I replied 'nothing - I don't want anything at all'. It was just another school day.

You're right Bronco, she is a very special lady. I think that is why life gave her such a very special man!

How much attention? What a silly question...lots! And lots of pressies...and lots of luffs....and lots of huggs and kisses....and lots of wine and drinkies for all...and all my friends to have a really good time...and I want my own cabana boy....and my new Harley!

Having just celebrated my 45th Birthday two days ago, this is an exceedingly timely question with a very simple answer.

While lots of attention is very nice, I just love being surrounded by my family and friends enjoying the day. That has always mean't the most to me. Well.... along with some good food and drink.

IT WOULD BE KINDA NICE IF SOMEONE,
ANYONE WOULD REMEMBER IT AND SAY THE WORDS. FOR SEVERAL YEARS NOW,
EVER SINCE THE CARDS WENT UP TO $3
AND MORE I CALL PEOPLE AND IN MY
FINEST VOICE SING "HAPPY BIRTHDAY".
FIGURED SOME ONE WOULD PICK UP ON IT AND SING IT TO ME, BUT NO SUCH
LUCK, WE ARE ALL SO OLD BD'S DON'T
AMOUNT TO MUCH ANYMORE.
EXPLANATION+++++ DON'T GET OLD.

Much to my husbands chagrin, I do not like much attention at all. I relented last year and allowed my husband and friends to give me a small party for my 40th, but most of the time I just want to have a quite nice meal with my husband and family. A card or kind word from everyone else is 'icing on the cake'!

I'd have to agree with Bronco...your wife is really special! But so are you! Isn't it wonderful when soulmates "collide"?

Hugh...sweetie! You must celebrate the day of your birth! And if people don't know your Birthday, tell them! I'll bet there are a lot of people who'd love to celebrate that day with you!

Happy Birthday, once again, WF! May all your wishes come true!

Pacif....Happy Belated and great answer!

Gumdrop....Happy Birthday! (Now tell us when it is..just the day and month is sufficient.)

Patr...I'm glad you relented last year. You probably gave them a great present allowing them to celebrate "you"!

As for me, well.....ever since my sweet daughter was born the day before my birthday ,17 years ago, the focus in more on her now than on me....which I don't mind...unless my family forgets completely, which fortunately only happened once! However, I did have my "cyber family" who threw me a very nice soiree! LOL The very BEST Surprise Party I ever had though was my Baby Shower for my son! I'm more into throwing parties for others than being on the receiving end.

I don't really like birthdays, so as little as possible.
