For the past 10 years we;ve gone to Amherst,NY to see my son compete in the Am Cam Judo tournament. But we are going to a wedding this year instead. So I suppose we'll just hang out at home and BBQ some steaks and enjoy some family time. He'll be coming home to visit us so that will be nice!
Typically, we have the whole family over for a BBQ...but we're off to England on Saturday and will be flying to Germany on Memorial Day...
Its gonna be different...
I am a veteran. I always will be. I lost friends in the service. On Memorial Day I go to Restland for the Memorial Day service. There they fire the four canons that are named for the battles of the Texas War. The Texas War of Independence started when Mexico wanted to take back their canons given to locals to protect themselves. It is history, both past, present and future.
The rest of the time I will spend
taking care of business that I should have taken care of along time ago.
I am eager to see how I turn out after 3 days off.
PEF & I will be entertaining PEF's father this weekend. He arrives tonight from West Palm Beach FL....On Monday, I'm cooking an old fashion Pork Chop dinner for all of my veterans... Dad, Dad and PEF.
And to all of the other veterans in QofD, Thank you all for your dedication and service.

hanging out at my parents house cuz kendra is here from austin. wanted to do lots of swimming but the weather got kind of sucky~! ate lots of yummy food like guacamole, manicotti and italian cream cake! i don't usually do anything to celebrate memorial day. One year I got to go to my grandpa's grave in Kansas City and another year I went to my grandma's grave inthe Ozarks. Nothing this year but Jarrod is having a grand ol' time in Galveston!
