To be quite honest and also very kind, I have never found it to be a problem to speak in any form or fashion. Talking is usually one of the things I excelled at though somehow my teachers never seemed to be able to find the a commensurate mark indicating my proficiency in the matter.
easier to speak kindly. sometimes honestly may hurt the more sensitive folks who don't understand that the honesty is something to be taken and analyzed by the individual to determine if they agree with the other's observation and perhaps make changes when one feels they may be true.

Oh, honesty is difficult when to be honest would be unkind or even hurtful. I do not like conflict or discord, so I use avoidance when honesty would yield such outcome. Yes, I have been known to have my head in the sand to hide.
I agree with Patr. Kindly is easier. Honesty is difficult because it can be hurtful even if said kindly
Sadly .... I am often WAY TOO HONEST!!!! To the point where it really hurts other people's feelings ....
So don't come to me and ask me "do I look fat in this?" because I WILL tell you the truth ... unless it is the truth you want ... then ask away!
